Terms of Use
Ready Set Onward helps people and families understand and navigate education, training, credential, employment, and support options. By using Onward, you agree to use the service lawfully and understand the limits described below.
Onward is navigation—not the final decision-maker
Ready Set Onward is not the enrolling school, employer, government agency, financial-aid office, legal advisor, healthcare provider, or school of record. Schools, training providers, employers, agencies, and other organizations make their own eligibility, admission, enrollment, hiring, credentialing, service, and funding decisions.
Age and account rules
Independent learner accounts begin at age 16. A child under 16 may not create an independent learner account or independently complete the learner intake. A parent or guardian may use their own account to explore options on behalf of a child under 16. Participants age 16–17 use youth participant accounts with guardian safeguards. When a youth participant reaches age 18, the account becomes an independent adult account and guardian access associated with minor status ends.
Accurate account information
Do not misrepresent your age or your relationship to a youth participant. Youth participants may be asked for date of birth to apply the age safeguard and age-18 transition. Onward does not require a birth certificate or government ID to start the Route.
Verify important facts
Program eligibility, admission, cost, schedules, credentials, employment terms, wages, graduation requirements, financial support, transportation, childcare, and service availability can change. Confirm important details directly with the responsible organization before making a decision.
Permission before provider sharing
Your use of Onward does not give every partner access to your personal information. Direct provider connections require an affirmative organization-specific choice. When you authorize a connection, Onward may transmit the information described in that connection flow so the selected organization can respond.
Family accounts
Each person’s Onward Route is separate. Parent and youth accounts may be connected for appropriate support, but goals, assessments, resumes, support information, and outcomes are not treated as one shared household record. Adult participants decide whether a parent or other supporter continues to have access after age 18.
AI-assisted tools
Onward Guide and other AI-assisted tools may help organize questions, plans, resumes, comparisons, and next steps. AI output may be incomplete or incorrect and must not be treated as a guarantee of admission, eligibility, employment, funding, legal compliance, medical suitability, wages, or outcomes.
Partner information and paid participation
Organizations are responsible for the accuracy of their own information. Paid membership, sponsorship, software, analytics, or enhanced visibility does not entitle an organization to a better quality evaluation or hidden organic recommendation advantage. Sponsored placements should be identified as sponsored.
No guaranteed outcomes
Ready Set Onward does not guarantee that a participant will enroll, graduate, obtain a credential, receive funding, be hired, earn a stated wage, or achieve a particular outcome. Labor-market and wage information is directional planning information and may change.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse Onward to harass others, impersonate another person, submit fraudulent information, attempt unauthorized access, scrape protected personal information, interfere with the service, or use learner information for purposes outside an authorized connection.
Privacy
Our handling of personal information is described in Privacy, Youth & Family Privacy, and Data & Intelligence Principles.
Changes and availability
We may improve, modify, suspend, or discontinue features. These Terms may also be updated as the product and legal environment change. Material changes may require a new notice or acceptance where appropriate.
